HCMS End of Year 8th Grade Student Plan

 

HCMS will comply with CDC guideline recommendations during this process. Teachers will be encouraged to wear face masks.

 

Cones will be set up every 6 feet on the sidewalk in front of the building. All students will enter the main entrance doors one at a time.  Hand sanitizer will be available for each table station. Tables will be placed in front of the cafeteria and classroom doors for the following:

  • Pay cafeteria debt with correct change or check 

  • Return classroom materials:  books, calculators, etc.

  • Return baseball jersey

  • Return or pay (correct change or check) for library books

  • Return band instrument

  • Pick up yearbook

  • Buy yearbook (correct change or check)

  • Pick up report card

There will only be one student per station at all times.

 

Several adults will be assigned to areas of the entrance and hallways to monitor hallway traffic, lockers, and to maintain a one way traffic flow as students enter the building, travel down the hallway, and exit through the library.

 

In order to keep this time brief and to help prevent congregating, we will assign times by student last name for May 18th:

  • A & B - 8:00-9:00 a.m.   

  • C & D - 9:00-10:00 a.m.

  • E, F, & G - 10:00-11:00 a.m. 

  • H, I, & J - 11:00 a.m.-noon    

  • K, L, & M - 1:00-2:00 p.m.   

  • N, O, P, Q, & R - 2:00-3:00 p.m. 

  • S, T, U, & V - 3:00-4:00 p.m. 

  • W, X, Y, & Z - 4:00-5:00 p.m. 

  • Anyone who missed their assigned time - 5:00-6:00 p.m.

 

If an 8th grade student has a 6th or 7th grade sibling, upon request, we can schedule a time for them as well.
