I am very happy to be part of the professional team at Erin Elementary School this school year. Your principal and school board are committed to offering the academic, social, and emotional resources to make this year a great one!

Children have exciting learning experiences when they are happy, secure, and self-confident.  In Guidance students learn to understand feelings,  develop safety awareness, and become empowered to manage day-to-day crisis. They also learn the importance of developing good character and learning positive ways to resolve conflicts.  We  study the character traits of responsibliity, courage, caring, perserverence, respect, kindness and citizenship. In addition, every year during the month of October we learn about the dangers of cigarette smoking, underage drinking and illegal drug use.  We celebrate Red Ribbon Week, where students pledge to stay away from drugs.  In the May we study careers and we end the year with Career Day, where parents and others in the community come and share information about their careers.

This year we will also be offerring “Rainbows” a support group for children who have experienced a loss though death, divorce, or separation will also be offered.

I will also be available to parents in a professional and confidential capacity regarding questions or concerns about their children.

Please let me know if I can assist you or your children in any way.

Sincerely,

Tammy McCleaf M.S.
