I love kindergarten!
I earned a BS at UTM and with a Public Relations Major and a Philosophy Minor. I lived in Memphis and Hendersonville after I graduated college. I worked retail and fell in love with teaching when I worked as a daycare teacher in Hendersonville. I went back to school at Trevecca and earned my teaching certificate in K-8 with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. My first teaching job was at Metro Baptist School close to Nashville. I taught at Gene W. Brown Elementary in Hendersonville for several years. I taught both second and third grade, and I loved it , but I wanted my children to grow up in a rural community. I also missed living close to my family, so we moved back home. I taught first grade my first year at Erin Elementary in 2001 and I have taught kindergarten since 2002. I always wanted to teach kindergarten. I moved back to kindergarten after trying another 2 years in first grade. The 5 year old child is fascinating! I am amazed at how much former students both remember and forget about our 180 days together.
I have three children. My children all adults, and they are all wonderful people, they are very bright, and I'm super proud of them!
